The end of summer collection started as a day of play, It had been months since I had gotten messy with the medium that started my art journey; watercolours. After a long summer of painting with oils I wanted to take time for myself, let myself go and see what I could create. I was hugely influenced by old polaroids and how they become blurred over time, just like the memory that they capture. I wanted to use colours that reminded me of those long late summer days, when the sky glows pink and orange at sunset and you can feel a slight chill warning us of the colder autumn days to come.
This collection came from deep within my soul and was poured out onto the paper, I hope you love them as much as I loved creating them.
Watercolour on canson paper. 30x40cm including frame. Actual painting size is 20x29cm.
